Medicare Advantage and FEHB

{Leslie}
Hi, I am Leslie Priest of the Aetna Federal Team

There’s so much buzz about Medicare Advantage plans. If you’re 64 or older, you’re probably receiving mailings, phone calls, and have seen commercials about these plans So, what is Medicare Advantage?

Medicare Advantage plans are just another name for Medicare Part C plans. Medicare Part C covers everything that Medicare Parts A and B cover and may cover extra benefits too. You’ll still enroll in Medicare Parts A and B but choosing a Medicare Advantage plan helps to reduce costs, improve choice, and enhance quality. There are over 64 million people enrolled in Medicare today, and 45% of them are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan. This is projected to increase to over 50% by the year 2025.

So, what does this mean to you as a federal retiree?

In the past you were required to suspend your Federal Employees Health Benefits coverage if you wanted to enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan. But now you have an opportunity to opt-in to a Medicare Advantage plan available to members in some of the plans offered through the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program. This way, you get all the benefits of Medicare Advantage like reduced costs, improved choice and enhanced quality, while staying in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program.

To learn more about the added benefits of Medicare Advantage watch our Aetna Medicare Advantage video or visit AetnaFedsLive.com to schedule a one-on-one appointment with a licensed professional to help you understand how it could work for you.
