Federal Retiree Center

Welcome to all things federal retirement

Have meals delivered to your home — focus on recovery instead.

Hello again! With the Aetna Medicare Advantage PPO plan with an extended service area, you can get healthy, precooked meals delivered to your home after an inpatient hospital stay, at no extra cost. This helps you focus on recovery — and lets you eat healthy at the same time.

We partner with GA Foods to coordinate this benefit. Since 1973, GA Foods has been creating and delivering high-quality, nutritious meals to those in need. GA Foods provides home-delivered meals from coast-to-coast throughout the continental United States.

How many meals can I get?

You’ll get fourteen meals — two a day, for seven days.

What are the meal options?

Each meal includes tasty entrées like pasta, stews and salads. They also feature fruit, vegetables and desserts. The menu is developed by registered dietitians. So, all meals are low in sodium, fat, cholesterol and sugar, and high in vitamins and minerals.

How easy is it to get the meals?

After discharge from an inpatient hospital stay, you’ll get a phone call from GA Foods.
